Welcome to The IDA Austin Branch website. We are thrilled to be launching a new set of webpages that link us directly to The International Dyslexia Association. The webpages are structured to not only make accessing information about our branch activities easier and quicker but also give learners, parents and professionals a place to find current research and resources about dyslexia. I hope you will visit our evolving website often to find out about current events such as conferences and parent workshops. You can also contact us using the Contact Us Form if you have any questions.
This is my second year as President of the Austin Area Branch of The International Dyslexia Association (AABIDA). However, I am certainly not new to the organization. Before becoming President, I served as both the Treasurer and a Director. The new year has started with board members who are passionate about working with families, educators, professionals and students. Each board member has a wealth of experiences that will help us accomplish our mission of helping all individuals learn to read. Information about each of them can be found on the Board of Directors webpage.
If you are searching for a way to support individuals with dyslexia, please consider volunteering to help strengthen our organization. We have multiple opportunities to serve in a wide variety of activities, from the newsletter to social media and even marathon running. We would love to have you as part of our team. We cannot complete our mission “until everyone can read” without your help!
