2018 Keynote Speakers

Dr. Tammy Tillotson is the Director of the Children’s Dyslexia Center of Upper Wisconsin. Dr. Tillotson became an Orton-Gillingham trained tutor to assist her youngest son and other children who face challenges with dyslexia. Dr. Tillotson’s experience and background is in directing and leading non-profit organizations, training individuals in an IMSLEC-accredited program, and coordinating publicity and development campaigns. Dr. Tillotson’s keynote presentation, “Putting the Pieces Together,” will explore personal and professional perspectives of dyslexia and how the key pieces fit together to create a beautiful picture in the end.
 Jamie Putnam, M.S., CCC/SLP, is the Clinic Director of Capital Area Speech & Occupational Therapy in Austin, Texas. Ms. Putnam has an extensive background in speech and language therapy, audiology, and early childhood development with experience in public school, private practice, and hospital settings. Ms. Putnam’s presentation, “Language & Literacy: The Critical Connection,” will further participants’ understanding of how early language development and milestones can be predictors of later reading and writing success.
