2018 IDA Austin Conference

IDA Austin thanks you for making our 2018 annual conference a success. IDA Austin serves a wide area of Central, South, and West Texas. This conference was an exciting opportunity for educators, therapists, and families from Waco to Corpus Christi to Ft. Stockton to connect with the dyslexia community.

We thank our keynote speakers at this year’s conference.

Tammy Tillotson, D.M., I-CALP, is the Center Director of the Children’s Dyslexia Center of Upper Wisconsin. Dr. Tillotson is a therapist, activist, and trainer who speaks on a wide range of topics across the country. Dr. Tillotson’s keynote presentation, “Putting the Pieces Together,” will explore personal and professional perspectives of dyslexia and how the key pieces fit together to create a beautiful picture in the end.
Jamie Putnam, M.S., CCC/SLP, is the Clinic Director of Capital Area Speech & Occupational Therapy in Austin, Texas. Ms. Putnam has an extensive background in speech and language therapy, audiology, and early childhood development with experience in public school, private practice, and hospital settings. Ms. Putnam’s presentation, “Language & Literacy: The Critical Connection,” will further participants’ understanding of how early language development and milestones can be predictors of later reading and writing success.

We hope our breakout sessions were interesting and helpful, and we appreciate all our breakout session speakers as well. You can review the program and session handouts here. Click below to review the conference agenda.
